The Dalian Institution Scholarship is a fully financed opportunity for non-Chinese citizens to pursue Master’s and Postgraduate degree programs at the institution.
In 2024, Dalian University of Technology (DUT) will provide a Chinese Government Scholarship -High-Level Postgraduate Program for Doctoral or Master’s degree students.

Scholarship at Dalian University Details:
Graduate programs are supported by the Dalian University Scholarship. The term of the scholarship is three years for master’s degrees and four years for doctorate programs.
The majority of DUT’s programs are taught in Chinese, however some are also taught in English. In general, the scholarship length indicated in the Admission Notice for major study cannot be extended. In general, students are not authorized to apply to modify their specialty, institutions, or period of study as mentioned in the Admission Notice.
Eligibility Criteria for the 2024 Dalian University Scholarship
To be eligible for the Dalian University Scholarship, please complete the following form:
- Non-Chinese nationals in good health can apply.
Education and age restrictions:
- Master’s degree applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
- Applicants for doctoral programs must have a master’s degree and be under 40 years old.

For Ph.D. and Master’s candidates, the final instructor and department may evaluate your language level based on the interview or written test for Ph.D. and Master’s applications.
For the Chinese-taught curriculum, an HSK certificate (within the last two years) is required:
HSK 4 180 or higher for Science, Technology, Management, and Economics majors; HSK 5 180 or above for Humanities and Social Science, and Philosophy majors.
For the English-taught program, the following English certification is required:
Present a TOEFL or IELTS transcript; in general, the TOEFL score must be 80 or higher, and the IELTS score must be 5.5 or higher; Applicants who used English as the medium of instruction in their previous schooling should present the language certificate issued by their previous education institutions instead.
The final instructor and department may evaluate your language level based on the interview or written test for Ph.D. and Master’s applications.

The Advantages of the 2024 Dalian University Scholarship
- Tuition is waived, and on-campus housing is provided.
The following monthly allowances are available:
- Students pursuing a master’s degree: 3,000 CNY each month
- Students pursuing a doctorate: 3,500 CNY per month
- Medical insurance covers everything.
- Applicants must cover their own overseas travel fees.
Documents Required for Dalian University Scholarship
Candidates must be prepared to provide the following documents in order to apply for the Dalian University Scholarship:
- Applicants for Chinese Government Scholarships should fill out the online application and then print and sign the application form after submitting it online.
- Applicants who are currently in China must provide a scan of a photocopy of their visa.
- Academic transcripts (beginning with the undergraduate program).
- A suggestion for a study plan in Chinese or English (no fewer than 1000 words).
- Two letters of reference, one in Chinese and one in English, from professors or associate professors at the university from where the candidates graduated. These letters must outline the applicant’s learning objectives in China, comprehensive abilities, and assessment of future progress. Please see the attachments.
- Photocopy of completed Foreigner Physical Examination Form and Blood Test Report in English (applicants should maintain the original).
- Copy of passport photo page and one blank visa page (normal passport expires in September 2024).
- Certificates of Language Proficiency. Refer to the qualification’s language requirement.
- No-Criminal-Conviction Certificate. Highest diploma notarized (notarized photocopy).
