The Khalifa University Graduate Scholarship provides educational fees as well as a monthly stipend for Master’s and Ph.D. programs at the university.

Details about the Khalifa University Scholarship:

International students seeking Master’s and Doctoral degrees at Khalifa University are supported. Scholarship eligibility is determined during the admissions process, and applicants do not need to submit a separate scholarship application.

Academic merit and other pertinent elements are used to analyze and map all candidates to a certain scholarship Tier (full-time or part-time) in accordance with Khalifa University’s strategic goals, rules, and regulations. Meeting the criteria for a certain Tier does not guarantee a scholarship grant.

Eligibility Criteria for the Khalifa University Scholarship in 2024

The Khalifa University Scholarship has the following requirements:

For Master of Arts programs:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent (e.g. an upper second-class honors degree from a respected accredited school).
  • A basic degree of English competence in the form of TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) score of 91 or higher, or
  • Overall academic IELTS score of 6.5 or EmSAT English score of 1550.

Admission to all Master of Science programs requires a minimum quantitative score of 150 on the General Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Applicants must take the GRE in all three parts.

  • A bare minimum At least two referee endorsements (given via an online form).
  • Purpose statement (500-1,000 words).
  • Interview for admission.

For Doctoral programs:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a reputable accredited institution with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 out of 4.0 or equivalent (for Bachelor’s to PhD direct admission), or Completion of a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a reputable accredited institution with a minimum CGPA of 3.25 out of 4.0 or equivalent.
  • A basic degree of English competence in the form of TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) score of 91 or higher, or
  • Overall academic IELTS score of 6.5 or EmSAT English score of 1550.
  • A quantitative score of at least 150 on the general Graduate Record Examination (GRE).  Applicants must take the GRE in all three parts.
  • At least two referee endorsements (given via an online form).
  • Purpose statement (500-1,000 words).
  • Statement of research (500-1,000 words).
  • Interview for admission.

Documents Required for Khalifa University

To apply for the Khalifa University Scholarship, applicants must scan and upload the following documents in clear and readable form:

  • Certified copy of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree certificate (whichever is relevant).

The UAE Ministry of Education issues an equivalency certificate to candidates who have graduated from institutions. The UAE Ministry of Education issues an equivalency certificate to candidates who have graduated from universities outside the UAE. To apply for your Equivalency Certificate, go to the UAE Ministry of Education Equivalency Certificate page and get started as soon as possible because the procedure is extensive.

  • The grading system is shown on the official school transcript.
  • Certificate of English language competency (IELTS, TOEFL, or EmSAT).

Official TOEFL score reports can be provided directly to Khalifa University of Science and Technology by your institution using the institutional TOEFL code 0960.

Score report for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Using the institutional GRE number 0822, official score reports can be transmitted directly to Khalifa University of Science and Technology.

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) in detail.
  • Purpose Statement (500-1,000 words).
  • Photograph in the manner of a passport on a white backdrop.
  • A copy of a valid passport is required. International candidates who live in the UAE must additionally submit a clear copy of their current UAE visa.
  • Copies of the Family Book (Khulasat Al Qaid). This is only necessary for candidates who are UAE nationals.
  • Valid national ID card from the UAE (for national and international candidates already resident in the UAE).
  • Purpose Statement (500-1,000 words).
  • Statement of Research (500 to 1,000 words). This is just for PhD candidates.
