The three (3) day intensive learning program known as the ECOWAS School of Internet Fellowship aims to familiarize participants with Internet governance (IG) from both a global and West African standpoint.

Upon completion of the training, participants will get certificates. Along with participation in the virtual training platform and fireside talks with subject matter experts, the fellowship will also include these activities.

Fellowship for the ECOWAS School of Internet Specifics

The 16th edition of the West Africa Internet Governance Forum (WaIGF) is scheduled to take place in Senegal on July 11 and 12, 2024, and is being organized by the ECOWAS Commission, which is also the forum’s secretariat.

The 7th West African School on Internet Governance (WASIG), which will take place online from May 20 to June 20, 2024, will come before the WAIGF. It will be followed by an in-person session in Dakar, Senegal, from July 7 to 10, 2024.

We especially invite women, young people, and stakeholders from West Africa to apply. There aren’t many spots available.

Requirements for the ECOWAS School of Internet Fellowship:

The following requirements must be fulfilled by applicants for the ECOWAS School of Internet Governance Fellowship:

  • West African stakeholders are encouraged to apply. Ideally, potential candidates ought to be involved in Internet governance or ICT policy processes as significant players or decision-makers.
  • They should also have the ability to participate in IG procedures and/or activities immediately or shortly inside their organizations, nations, continents, and worldwide.
  • All stakeholder groups, especially the youth and women’s groups, should be represented by candidates.

  • The curriculum consists of a three-day intense study session in Dakar, Senegal, after a one-month certified online course.
