The University of Edinburgh Macqueen Scholarship is intended to promote research in postgraduate social work, with a focus on the experiences of single caregivers in one-parent households.
This focus offers a special chance to throw light on these caregivers’ lives and obtain important insights that can help them make significant improvements in their day-to-day lives.
The scholarship highlights the useful application of research to improve the lives of single caregivers in addition to promoting academic success.
The University of Edinburgh’s Macqueen Scholarship requirements
In order to be eligible for the Macqueen Scholarship at the University of Edinburgh, you need to:
- Apply online for admission to the social work Ph.D. program.
- No later than five business days prior to the scholarship deadline, submit your application.
- Submit a Macqueen PhD Scholarship application.
Advantages of the 2024 Macqueen Scholarship
The honor includes:
- Complete tuition costs (in the UK, EU, or elsewhere).
- For 2024–2025, the stipend will be determined at the UKRI level. For comparison, the pro rata equivalent of £18,622 for full-time students or the current UKRI level for 2023–24 is available.
- An annual research grant of £750.
- For full-time students, the award is good for three years; for part-time students, it is good for six years pro rata.
