Focus and Benefits of the YALI Program
- Business and Entrepreneurship – this sector is for those who are willing to take on responsibility within the private sector or start their own business.
- Civil Society Management – this sector is for those who are willing to serve the public through an NGO, or volunteerism.
- Public Policy and Management – this sector is for those who are willing to serve at any level of government, a regional organization like the African Union, and so on.
If you happen to be part of the shortlisted, the following will be covered by the program:
- Visa to Accra (if necessary)
- To and fro travel from your home country to Accra
- Movement to the venue and back within Accra
- Tailored academic and leadership course
- Accident and sickness insurance during the course
- Housing and meals promised
Requirement for YALI West Africa Program
It will be an open selection. All applications will pass through the selection panel and the chosen ones will be interviewed before a final selection is made and a letter inviting you to join the program is issued.
The following criteria will be used by the selection panels:
- A proven leadership skills in public service, business, and entrepreneurship, or civic engagement.
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team.
- Excellent social and communication skills.
- Committed to leadership skills and training for the benefit of your country after the program.
- Energetic and optimistic in nature.
- A strong professional history in the chosen sector.
There won’t be any form of discrimination.
